BBC header q's

Got a friend with an LT1 looking to go BBC, does everyone just get headers from Lemons?

The Big Show Nov 2, 2004 11:26 AM

No, hooker actually makes a header that needs just a lil' tweaking to slide right on in. PM Brady and ask him or XXX as I believe they have the part number.

Outlaw Nov 3, 2004 08:39 PM

Lemons will need your car to do these at this point.. unless things have changed. Custom ones are the way to go, the ones from hooker are from a nova/camaro deal if i recall.

PRAY HRD Nov 3, 2004 08:49 PM

madman previously told me that hookers for a chevelle, not sure what years, will basically drop right in.

see, this would be a great question for a new forum........like maybe.......BBC/SBC in 4th gen f-bodies? i think someone should start one of these. LOLOLOL

later,
Dave

MADMAN Nov 4, 2004 06:28 AM

66-67 chevelle will go in with a little massaging. I have the motorplates in stock for these also.

nitrorocket Nov 4, 2004 07:23 AM

I have a set of headers Off Bob hoods teal nova(10.5" super street), I think it's about a 1970. They have a 2 1/4 " primary and were used with a BIG CHIEF and BRODIX 2X head. Would those fit? They went 7's at over 170mph. They are Jet hot coated and have custom Dynomax collector muff's. They are as badass as they come!!!

Big Mike Nov 4, 2004 09:40 AM

If we had a BBC/SBC forum, maybe we'd have the answer... :P :P :P *Hint* *Hint*

Pro Stock John Nov 4, 2004 10:13 AM

:)

Madman does those headers require running a motor plate? I do realize that most folks doing a BBC conversion would run motor plates anyway.

MADMAN Nov 4, 2004 10:48 AM

hey can be run either way.

Outlaw Nov 4, 2004 12:18 PM

Madman, you have any pictures of these headers in a car with a bbc? would like to see how they fit, and what "work" had to be done to get them in the car :)

Race Car Driver Nov 5, 2004 03:40 PM

Lemon makes headers for BBC in 3rd and 4th gen Camaros.

I just bought a set today from them for my t/s Firebird.

Mike, I started a 7-second club last week thread for FI and/or carb'd BBC cars, but it was promptly deleted by derty. I have asked PSJ to reinstate the thread, without success thus far. This site has a definite bias against BBC (technically, we run a big block Pontiac motor designed by Ray Franks).

gator's 99TA Nov 5, 2004 08:50 PM

stealth rules!

PRAY HRD Nov 5, 2004 10:18 PM

now you know that isn't true in all cases! even with all of todays technology, there's still nothing better than a Big Block with a good sounding cam through Flowmasters!!! this may be an LS1 forum, but i bet you 85% minimum would agree. stealth has it's place, but give me a rumble anyday for superior pleasure when driving.

later,
Dave

gator's 99TA Nov 6, 2004 09:19 AM

actually stealth is the old name of Bickelfirebird

Thank you and I obviously agree! :) :eyes: Actually, I sold the car, license name and user name to the new owner. As you can see from my sig, I'm still fooling around with an LS1, but my t/s BBC Firebird takes all my time and money.

Hey, do you think we can discuss other big block topics here without having the thread deleted?

I hope so. I am working on a 454 that will be a daily driver and I haven't been able to find any BBC forums  so I've had to pester you guys for advice. :secret:
If there's an LT-1 section why can't there be a BBC section?

My guess is that the site owners would be much more tolerant of FI BBC threads versus carb'd BBC threads. I would start a 6 second club thread but I would be the only member! ;)

bragger..... :judge: :)

let's hope a new forum is approved over the weekend.

Dave

Race Car Driver Nov 6, 2004 10:43 PM

Yea, I'm guilty of bragging but unlike many at this site, at least I'll admit it. Isn't that a big part of what this site and racing is all about - bragging about your car? :)
