On a mild build like this it's definately worthwhile to do something in the 3000rpm area. I'm guessing the cam will compliment the SuperRam in the 2000-6000rpm range and if that's the case, Set aside some money for very good(sticky) tires.
I'd definately look into a Precision Industries Vigilante 9.5" converter. If that's not your style, YANK or NEAL can set ya up.
I have a Lock-up 4200 P.I. Vigilante and it drives nice so you have nothing to worry about.
