Default Universal electric fuel pump OK?

Am looking @ a universal (low pressure, around 2 PSI) line mounted electric fuel pump to feed the carb on my Gen 1 350 project. Am told it will work great. Anyone have experience using an electric fuel pump in a carb application please comment. Thank-you

My experience is that a small block (mild) needs at least 5lbs of pressure. I ran a 13.5 to 1 400 sbc and used a manual pump with 8 psi and -8an fuel lines..I found that changing the fuel lines from 1/4" to 1/2" made a HUGE difference...hope this helps...in my opinion, a 2 psi pump won't cut the mustard.

When you say universal do u mean generic? cause if so I'd stay away from that. One slip up and a nice lean condition and there goes a piston

I have the holley mechanical (i know we're talking electric here) 110 on a fairly fixed up 350 that I have and it works good. The reason I upgraded to that is the pump that was on there before couldn't supply the motor enough fuel in 3rd gear while racing. So, i went with the holley mechanical 110. Even at that, people I know with fixed up motors will go pick up the holley blue electric fuel pump with the regulator at the local o'reilly's. Just a suggestion.

Sounds like either a regulated electric pump or mechanical is the way to go. Thank-you

BTW, the motor has a mild cam & is otherwise stock. Will not be driven hard.
What model #/make mechanical pump could be used, Holley 110 or something else?

I'm runnung a Carter electric/built-in regulated pump on my 327 hyd roller-Brodix Headed- 575 Speed Demon fueled and it works GREAT. I think the pump was like $65 through Summit.

Check out the carter pump for a mild carbureted engine, and you will need at least 5psi but no more than 6 or so.
