Vacuum Leak On My Cruise Control, Will It Make The Engine Run Lean Or Not?

Vacuum Leak On My Cruise Control, Will It Make The Engine Run Lean Or Not? Hey All,
I have BB 492 with cruise and my vacuum guage drops 5 #'s with cruise on. I assume it's the big diapham that pulls the throttle open. Not 100 % sure but just wondering if that much of a vacuum leak makes engine run lean with that much air pulling from under the carb? I once saw what a missmatched carb gasket can do to 3 pistons on a boat engine. It ain't pretty. Stacey
