That's kind of an open question. Obviously a short block from the mid-seventies onward is going to be at a disadvantage until you get to the early ninety's because of compression.

What kind of pistons? Flat? Dish?

that would depend on the hp rating on the motor purchased about the pistons. do you remember which motor it was because they have several 350 crate motors from gm.

There's a great aftermarket for what you're asking. What do you need this for? Let us know what your plan is and we'll give our best advice...or..Our 2 cents as it's better known as...

You can make 200-600hp...it depends largely on budget and how wild of an engine you want.

It's probably a 8.5:1(76cc chamber head) compression setup with a dished, 4 valve relief piston that you have. A thin gasket and 64cc head will get you to a nice compression ratio.

im looking for a tight budget track only heads cam setup, it will be running through a built th400(not sure on tq converter yet) and a beefed up 12bolt (it has 4 11 gear)already on the car on and mt slicks.

what kind of budget is tight to you? it varies from person to person, but when i think heads/cam budget i am looking around $1500-$2000 for good heads and possibly roller cam. it all depends on the $.
