Default 57 bellaire stoker on the roll...

My uncle came by and showed me his new project he just completed. Tell me what ya'll think about his setup.

283 bored and stroked to a 301, high compression, heavily ported, huge sollid roller cam, 2 4 barrell carbs, 4.11 gears threw a munsey 4 speed tranny. slicks and skinneys
Weight reduction.
He tells me the car makes around 600hp and runs best of 8.9s.....

Now in my honest opinion, I believe the car makes around 430hp and runs low 11s if anything. What do yall think because he is dead set on the car running 8.9s and make 600hp..

Car has never been on dyno, can someone please tell him the capabilities of what the car will run as is....

his first mistake was going with a 283... not a good start. if he wants that car to be high 8's hell need some badass suspension and a really light weight, im thinkin around 2500 lbs if hes wanting to keep it at 600 hp. or he could throw a big block in it and call it a day.

Another vote for running him.

Even after you beat him though, he will still have one of the sexiest auto's ever built.

600 Horse out of a 283 is not impossible but his setup to run these numbers BS. But in your quest to run him, you might get you *** handed to you, 283's although they may not be big on cubes they rev extremely quick, I've run some nice 283's back in the day and seen some others with to big of a cam that did nothing on the lowend but bring it to 4000 and it wwould sit you back in the seat. The curb weight of a stock 57 is under 3200lbs compared to most cars these days pushing 3800+ which is a huge benefit for him. Being he also running a stick is also less drivetrain loss. Someone once told me that for every 10lbs lost is a 3horse gain/ 600lbs=180HP

Wow car didnt pull hard at all lol, I ran on 315/35/17 drag radials from a dig on no 2 step=0 boost...

He is running a tall gear and im on a full suspension 04 mustang gt, t70 60 mmm on 8 psi, he instantly pulled, i saw around 4 psi on 1st and stared blowing loose... About 65-75 I started pulling like a frate train(sp) lol my car weighs 3300 ish to his heavy boat.. We ran from a 60 with me brake boosting pulled hard, his all motor just couldnt simply hang... im making 400/475 on 3300 lbs, hes running all motor 283 with at least 3500 lbs... Screwd around from a 80 Stupid i no, but built boost and burned and shut it off. Car is beautifull. no doubt, 9's though? Na... ( delete this if its not allowed),,, but hes suprised now.... wait till the that 60mm get another 60mm beside with a little 396 ls1....
