Default V8 S10 questions

I got a hold of a 95 s10 to put my motor in and have a few questions about mounts and ****. It is a 4.3 truck, do I just have to get the Trans Dapt mounts and use the stock 4.3 frame pads or do I have to change to 2.6L pads even though the 2.6 didn't even come in 95's? The web site says that changing to 2.6 V6 pads is required.

Who makes a cross member for my turbo 400 in my 95, the only ones I find are 82-93, are they all the same or do I have to find a year specific one somewhere?

Would the tranny still work in the truck if I took the PCM and harness out, is there a TCM somewhere?

What about gauges if I use the factory sending units and then look at the wiring diagrams for the gauge cluster will they work or do the signals go to the computer first before the gauges and get modded somehow so I have to leave the PCM?

I can say this- most of the 'mount kits' are pretty cheesy. In the past, I've always built my own mounts from 3/8" plate steel, and have never had a problem. That also affords you the ability to place the engine exactly where you want it.

As far as a TH400 crossmember, I would look into just using the original crossmember, and modifying as needed. Again, metal-working experience is a major plus on projects such as this.
