Default Reputable shops w/ personal experience...

I'm thinking of switching my gears. Anybody here know any shop can do it w/ reasonable price and tune my car for the gear I'm switching to and well tune the rest of the car? I might go ahead tune the car for to have it run in optimum performance, so if you know someone or somebody's shop let me know. Of course this have to be in Little Rock area.

I got the tune covered, I'm on ASAP also. Just shoot me a pm and I'll answer any questions you have. I am tuning a few others from on here around the area also.

No prob man. You could check with TNC, I think Jeff does gears, I just don't have time to do the mechanical stuff anymore with the tuning going on.

3.42 gear. I think its the best gear for 4L60Es its in between suckass 2.73s and gas guzzling 3.73s. I don't get why the V6 fbodies get 3.42s on A4 and 3.23s on manual and then they (GM) dump 2.73s and option of 3.23s on LS1 A4.

nice, will you have them in by the race day in march? the place i had my gears done was called dale's auto out in west little rock about a half mile away from the rave theater. they'll guaruntee no whine as long as they supply everything, that's where i fucked up (buying used gears). you'll prob be looking at somewhere around 700 for the complete job (parts, labor, and tax). are you dynoing next weekend?

No dyno for me. I spent my dyno money on my book for a class I'm taking this semester. $125 for a damn book... Yes, I plan on putting the gears before the race day in march. I've got plans to get my 12s. About Dale's auto... Is it speed shop?

it's like a repair shop but they specialize in drag cars and things with big engines, but yea, they do all around speed stuff, internal engine, and i think they build engines out there too.

I'm going to be supplying the hardware if I go w/ them... I know what I want and what works so hopefully they're willing to work w/ me. Can do the work in a day or do I have to drop off my car and get it back a day later?

You sure you only want to go 3:42 on your gear. i sure am happy with 3:89 gear in my a4, running a 26" drag radial. Just don't take it out of overdrive til you have to. I think you would be much more pleased with at least the 3:73's. See ya soon

Yeah, its my daily driver and I like the MPG I get on it.... Plus I'm getting a stall w/ built A4 later on to compliment the 3.42. I'm hoping to get into deep 12s high 11 w/ just bolt ons. Turn up the notch to heads and cam and make it to mid 11s...

i'm sure they'd be able to get the brand you want, but as long as you supply new parts i doubt they'll have any issue's helping you. after the problems we went through with the whine on my 4:11's i bet they're through doing work for folks with used gear sets. i'd give em a call, they were very helpful in working with me to fix the problem, it's just too bad i'm back where i started, but with a larger hole in the pocket.

As long as they can work w/ me on the parts, I'll let them buy them. I'll just let them know what I want and what brand, etc. Do you happen to know their number and their excact location... If you know the address, I can just google or mapquest the place...
