anyone know anything about this tranny shop?

I don't know about them, but hey I'm half a continent away! LOL.
Seriously, check them out like you are here, then certainly give them a call. Talk to the owner / manager and see what their experience is. Then call around to other shops if you have not already and see how they compare... bottom line is make sure to do your homework.
Good Luck.

I bought a Level 4 tranny with what was diagnosed over the phone as an input drum seal...I want someone to look at it w/o taking me to the cleaners in the process...

Sorry... just ran into this post again.
Don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call. I am pretty sure we can help you out here with advice or the repairs... either way!

thanks in advance for the advice!
symptoms were "not crawling forward when in 1st...like it used to" and "can't brake stall it"...other than that it supposedly drove and shifted fine...
couldn't this be a converter issue as well?

Yes it could easily be a converter, could be a few things. A weak / worn out low roller clutch could cause a similar symptom..
Does it do this Manual Low and (D)?
Does it bang or lurch into low or when accelerating from a stop?
It could have a pressure leak as well, meaning low line presure of feed pressure at very low throttle.

Well...I dropped it off for a friend to look at at his tranny shop...and the verdict is in...
broken coast clutch hub...which appears to have also got into the band and reverse drum...said that the car was probably launched with the broken coast clutch hub and the band and drum were then damaged...
this info is Greek to me...does this sound right?
he said new drum, kevlar band and hub along with new seals and gaskets and I'm good to go...said that all of the clutches looked great...like new...

The terminology is a bit off... but that's nothing new it this industry.
I would think that if the pieces described are replaced it would be just fine. Without seeing it, it is difficult to understand what took what out. Usually we see aproblem with the input shaft stripping out the input drum shaft hub... literally fracturing it to pieces. Not sure if thats what happened here.
But, overall by he sound of things I would say you are in good hands. The Kevlar band is a bit agressive for a DD street ride. I would recommend the Alto band and a Corvette servo.

he put a "green" kevlar band in it...he said it only had a "white" something-or-another in it...
