I heard the fitment and quality is horrible on those lights and its hard to get them to line up right. Save your money for when the chrome wheels start to flake and peel!

If you search around you will find that people seem to hate the quality of these lights. Plus they offer little improvement in lighting over the stock setup, so it ends up being mostly a cosmetic mod. Theres a lot better ways to spend a G.

If the quality is there and they are bolt on (no irreversable mods) I would do it. these were supposed to be on the 99 Hawk but I think they only made a few sets. I saw a set at teh SLP booth at the national firehawk meet in Norwalk, OH years ago

The lights are made by Breathless Performance. Do a search and you will find out why you dont see them more often.

A better option would to be to hop on the BLS kit group buy and pay half the price for twice the lighting performance. IF you choose this option, you better be quick, It's almost over and supplies are limited.

I say no, but its your car and your money do what makes YOU happy, you dont have to follow the crowd, its up to you but the quality of those isnt up to the price level, IMHO.

I was reluctant to do any modding at first either. I mean I don't own a "real" real Firehawk (as in the original formula models) but I do own a Firehawk. There were only 470 T/A hawks made in 01 and only 9 of them were black on black t-topped a4s. So essentially the car is a "one of nine". I personally am not going to dip into the internals or do too many visual mods (just rims because of the flaking original ones). But as far as bolt ons, stalls etc I say go for it. Or anything that can easily be put back to "near stock" for resale purposes. Imo, those lights take away from what the hawk is. That's just me, but no trans am should be without eyelids. Jmho.

Remember; The mortality of your car may show itself someday and change your mind about selling it. It's harder to sell a modified fbody than a near stock one, also if you change it too much visually you risk "ricer syndrome" of low resale.

These cars have terrible OEM headlights. So any improvement over stock, IMO is a good one. However, if you are simply doing it for the "look", I can think of a hundred better uses for $1000. The people telling you to "tint your headlights, and it will look sick" are idiots. First, you are likely to get a ticket, because no tint is allowed on headlights (or windshields either). Second, why would you spend all that money, to wind up with even worse headlights than stock?

These cars look just fine with their pop ups. Its part of the charm of (a oneday) classic. If you want to waste your money, go ahead, its your choice. But I think those fixed lights, on the Firebird/Trans Am/Firehawk look stupid.
