Default Collector plates / 2000 NHRA Firebird Formula

I am looking for help in verifying my 2000 Pontiac Firebird Formula that has the NHRA 50th anniversary package. I need a letter from Pontiac (in Pontiac letter head) stating that they had only produced less than 500 Firebird Formula’s in the year 2000 with this package. I have tried Pontiac’s help line but have gotten no farther than a letter stating that only 1,535 Firebird Formulas had been produced. When I try to explain that it is a NHRA special edition they say their research department cannot break that down. I truly believe they are clueless to what I am asking about, they are confused by the term NHRA… I strongly suspect that their call center is not located in the US. I was ask if I live in the same residence as William??? my name is Bill.

Would anyone have a contact at Pontiac that I could get this information from? I am applying for collector plates for my car and the only way they will issue them to a car that is under 20 years is a letter from the manufacture stating that is from a production run of less than 500.

Thank you for any help,
Bill

Getting good breakdown numbers on the NHRA S/E is difficult. GM did not track them like the WS6/SS/Firehawk.

NHRA cars have RPO 1SH. You can create your own breakdown by option by searching RPO combinations here.

Check your VIN here and look for the 1SH RPO.

My RPO code matches, what I am in need of is manufacturer's documentation to satisfy the DMV. I am driving down today to plea my case and see if they will accept the documentation from PHS since I have been getting no where with GM.

Thanks all for the help.

Good luck with that, but if the DMV is anything like they are here they wont care. They made more than 500 formulas in 2000, the DMV probally wont care that you have a NRHA package on your car since it still is a firebird. And to be honest I kind of thinnk they are right.... But goodluck..

I called 1-800-762-2737 to get a break down on my NHRA Formula to get a Collector's Registration for New Jersey. They sent me 2 nice letters 1 stating it was a special edition and no longer produced, and another with a package breakdown. Might help for you.
