Default Canadian 2002 35th Anniversary Camaro

New to the Forum, so hope I'm doing this right. I have looked everywhere for this information. Is there any way to tell (other than the metric instrument cluster on the dash) that a vehicle was one of the 369 slated to stay in Canada? The first digit of the VIN on all of them is 2 I believe since this is where they were all built. Also, is there any way to determine what the breakdown of options was for the 369 that stayed in Canada (how many coupes/convertibles, 6spd/auto, etc)? Thanks for the help.

You can try using CompNine's RPO database and filter on Z49 (Canadian Exports), then filter on each "significant" RPO from there to determine how many Z49 cars had which RPOs. This is essentially how I created the breakdowns (links in sig) years ago when unfettered access to CompNine's database was free. Their database isn't perfect (I've found some discrepancies compared to other sources), but it is quite detailed if you have the patience to mine the data.

There probably is another unique RPO for the metric instrument panel that goes along w/ Z49, but I'm not sure what that is. Certainly European exports would likely have the same RPO for the metric instruments (but not Z49).

You can get the factory invoice from gm archives. It will show the selling dealer.

You could also contact SLP. Canadian SS cars will have a "C" prefix to their SLP build number.

I've attached copies of mine for you to see.

Default Birth Certificate

Is there a place to have birth certificates and window stickers reproduced? Thanks for the information. I'm checking the dealer archives to see what I may be able to come up with.

Nice paperwork. Digging the "Footprint", LOL.

What's with the $100 Excise Tax for A/C? Is that something unique to Canada?

I suspect that part of the Z49 Canadian Base Equipment was an engine block heater. I had a '94 Z28 M6 'Vert that was also a Canadian export car that was initially used by GM brass and later sold at a GM auction to a dealer in Fremont, IN. The owner temporarily traded the Z28 w/ a Ski Nautique from his neighbor's boat dealership (both lived on Clear Lake, IN) for a year or so (his neighbor's wife drove the Z28 during that time). In '97 when they sold the Z28 to me, I received the original GM title, which is when I discovered it was originally a Canadian-export. It had an engine block heater and DRLs, which were not yet mandatory in the US in '94, I believe both of those items were required on Canadian cars in '94.

I owned that Z28 for just under 1 year before I traded it on my WS6. I later discovered that its color combo (polo green, black top and light beige cloth interior) made it more rare (1 of 37) than my WS6 (1 of 50).

Every new car sold in Canada gets the $100 A/C excise tax added on. Also gets applied to used cars that are exported from US to Canada. And then sales tax (13%) gets added on top of that.
