02 WS6 Oil?

I just got my 02 WS6, did these cars come from the factory with synthetic oil? I'm not sure what is in there now. I was thinking of switching to Mobil 1 synthetic. Or I might just use regular oil since I change the oil often. I know with synthetic your not supposed to change it every 3k miles, right?

I don't care what any motor oil company says but I willc hange my oil every 3k or if it has been ran hard. Cheap insurance. Of course, if the oil company wants to buy me a new motor then I will change it when that say to.

I prefer synthetics. Mobil 1, Redline, or Royal Purple.

Use synthetic and change at 3k or 3 months.

synthetic...can go 5k easy.... 3k is a waste of money...time to get with it slug

I second that.I bought my 2002 WS6 new and at 1000 miles i switched to Mobil 1.Since then I have changed the oil every 3months or 3k miles.The car now has 24k miles and hasn't used a drop of oil between changes.I know that some people say you can go longer between changes

but to me changing the oil every 3k miles is cheap insurance.

Besides ,it's my money my choice!

Yulp, I finally got myself a WS6.

I don't "have" it yet, because I haven't picked it up yet. Its black, M6 with the Hurst, loaded, and a Borla Exhaust

I would hardly call that "cheap", especially since you are using synthetic.

You're that cheap that you can't spend the extra $20 every 3k? I prefer my car to last with no problems. And the fact I work with cars for a living makes me believe I know a little something about them. I don't care what the oil advertises, 3k or 3 months.

The last time I checked, the materials for my oil changes cost around $40, AT LEAST. And to the best of my recollection, you can really only tell when oil needs to be changed by doing oil analyses. Most of those indicate that you can go well over 3K miles with good oil (remember - I said GOOD), provided you don't go out road racing or auto crossing all the time.

Jiffy lube are idiots. They say you need to get winter blend oil...wtf is winter blend oil? They put in synthetic blend and say thats whats for the winter. I still say 3k or 3 months. Completely your decision.
