Default Cutout size on the GMMG cars??

what is the size of the cutouts on the GMMG cars? I have a pick in one of my magazine's of the underside of the ZL1 that shows the cutout and it looks like either a 3.5" or 4". I was actually thinking of going this with my GMMG, running a 3.5 cutout off the Y collector (flowmaster merge collector) with a 3.5 cutout, then reducing it to 3" for the GMMG I pipe, you guys think it's worth it? Or should I just go with a 3"? You think a 3.5" will be any louder/power gains then a 3"?

with a cut out i really doubt the size would make difference in sound. your lt's, cats, and y will be the judge of the sounds you hear. id stay stick in whatever is cheapest.

well I have no cats, since I am running a Mufflex Y with the flowmaster merge which has a 4" outlet, I didn't know if I would see any significant gains by going with a 3.5" cutout as opposed to going with a 3" cutout. Anyone else wanna chime in?

I dont think it really matters how big the exit is, just the piping getting there. Stoleit has it down for sound. So i doubt the size of the cutout will change power/sound.

Don't know what the difference in power would be but FWIW my buddy picked up 10hp/10tq all the way across the board this weekend with a 3.5"

single in/single out or single in/dual outlet muffler? See I was going to run a 3.5" cutout, then reduce it to 3" through the GMMG.

single in/dual out but i thought the gmmg was 3.5" might be wrong though. I didn't measure it when they put it on for me.

see what I want to know is will I benefit power wise from a 3.5" cutout in the GMMG or should I just run a 3" cutout. Do you feel any difference from running a 3.5" cutout? Any dyno numbers?

I don't have one on my car right now. I'll give him a call tomorrow though when he gets back from G9 and see if he can scan in the dyno graph from this weekend. Like I said though, the car picked up 10 hp and 10 lb. ft of tq all the way across the board with the 3.5" on his car.

I have a picture in my magazine of the Dick Harrell Camaro and it shows a picture of the exhaust, it looks like it has a 3.5 or 4" cutout, and I was wondering if I did the same, if I would see more gains from a 3.5 cutout over a 3"??

FWIW guys a cutout isnt worth jack over the GMMG power wise. Several members of this board have done back to back tests with heads cam cars making upward of 450rwhp and not gained anything with a cutout....

Not to mention it sounds like chit on stock cubes
