Default hawk vs Ws6

I want a 98-02 Ws6 but was wondering-- Are there any performance advantages to getting a firehawk over a WS6, If so what is a good price for a stock 99 hawk with like 70k miles?

There are no performance advantages of one versus the other. The Firehawks will be a little rarer than the WS6.

Engine refinements. You could have seached yahoo.com or msn.com for this information. Waste of board space.

The only HP bumps from LS1 rated increases was in 2001. The other years had nothing to do with engine refinements.

99 LS1 was rated at 305hp. WS6 was 320 and Firehawk was 327hp. 2000 numbers remained the same for LS1/WS6, but Firehawk bumped to 330. There was no change in SLP content. GM was nice and let them round it off to 330, which was closer to the real number.

2001 everything bumped 5hp due to LS1 design changes from GM. LS1 to 310, WS6 to 325, Firehawk to 335hp.

2002 LS1 and WS6 stayed the same. Firehawk went to 345hp from the new SLP lid and Donaldson Blackwing filter.

Well I can say this as s owner of both, 01Ws6 and 02Hawk.
When they were both stock for stock, the Hawk would run much better, reved much quicker and drove and felt much lighter than the Ws6. To add my Hawk did not even have the upgraded suspension, that is avbl.
As for a Hawk it will give you a good jump on mods if you plan on going that way. Ie different lid, smooth bellows, exhaust, shifter, suspension, rear, ect and along with any other options it came with, on the one you find, if you choose that path.
Another point to ponder is from a collectors stand point. Either way you can t go wrong.
I would say this go for the Hawk if you can find one and if not a Ws6 will do just as good, either way you cant go wrong.

Your right there, love the Ws6 hood as well. Orginaly we were looking for a Hawk and could not find one so had to go with a Ws6. Than a few months later found the Hawk at a killer price, and could not part with the Ws6. So we now have both. Ws6 is the one to play-N-build, but the Hawk stays stock.
Both are M6,s wife cant stand a auto, she say "now what fun would that be".
Hawk owner.

now back on track for ya "koolwaterz7"
