Default Stainless Works "special request" S10 Header group buy!

Based on the overwhelming response we got from the previous thread, we are putting together a group buy to get this project rolling.

We do not currently make any S10 swap headers and understand there is not a heck of a lot out there for you guys who are dropping more than a stock LS1 or for those trucks that are slammed to the ground.

Stainless Works Agrees to Provide

> 304L Stainless Steel 2nd Gen S10 LS swap header

> In frame design that might require some clearancing (flattening of body seams, minor grinding, etc) but no major modifications

> 1 7/8" design UNLESS THIS PROVES TO BE IMPOSSIBLE
--- If 1 7/8" cannot be achieved, we will be forced to drop to 1 3/4" OR make other adjustments.
--- Group Buy members will have input on possible alternate options if 1 7/8" can't work.

> Preliminary pricing for the group buy will be set at $890.
---The standard price of a set of Stainless Works headers is $890. Until we have a truck here, we cannot put an official price on the build, but we should be able to hit that price point unless we really have do something out of the box and nonstandard.

What Stainless Works Needs From You

> 20 Group Buy Participants

> $150 good faith deposit
--- Applies to the ideal 1 7/8" header design and 1 3/4" Plan B design

> A truck or two for R&D
--- Ideally a truck that is not quite finished but setup in a fairly standard manner (we cannot use a completely wild custom)
--- May need truck for as long as 6 weeks

To sign up for the group buy, you can post in this thread, PM me or call Jason at (800) 878-3635 X232.

If you are interested in the Group buy, close enough to bring us a truck, and able to give it up for a few weeks this winter, please post details on the truck.

THANKS GUYS. Let's see what we can make happen.

Do you have a date for the $150 deposit? I have to be honest, this has to be the worst time of year for this, but I will do everything I can to get in on it.

Come on people if you want them then put some money down so itll actually happen! Otherwise its just going to be like all the other times companies said theyd make them then didnt because no one seemed interested. If I didnt already have longtubes Id put down some money, Ill volunteer my truck for a template though.

If you guys think 1st and 2nd gens can get away with the same headers, its something we can look into.

I'm not so sure we can make a set of 1 7/8" that will be able to fit both trucks. Tolerances seem too tight. What do you think?

Let's make this happen!

I think I've seen people use the 2nd gen brp in-frame LTs on a 1st gen with minor modifications, not sure.

Don't get caught up in 1st gen and 2nd gen stuff all being the same. I know first hand they are not. BRP hotrods made that same assumption and I bought a complete install kit from them I could not use. If you look on their site you will see listings for 1st gen and 2nd gen with different part numbers. They had to redo their line after disgruntled customers informed of their error. That's not to say you couldn't make one that could fit both, but you better have both present to test fit. There are also 2 or more commonly used motor mount kits to consider.

Just got off the phone with Jason I am going on the list. I even told him I have a set of CPW poly mounts and longtube headers to loan out if he wants to see how they fit.

I agree it seems unlikely that something with this amount of clearance (maybe not even enough clearance for the 1 7/8") is going to work for both applications.

I'm hoping to make a perfect set for 2nd gens and then see if they are even close for 1st.

We have em...just don't know if they will fit in the chassis. I will hang a set of our LS turbo headers on the truck when it gets here and add it to the notes.
