Iron block weighs about an extra ~70 to 80 pounds. That can be offset with k-member and new control arms. Also, you will get more HP (~15 to 20) out of an iron block than you will an aluminum block (all about the frequencies the different metals absorb). The extra HP easily makes up for the extra weight. You also get the added strength of the iron over aluminum if you are going for big HP and never have to worry about dropping a sleeve etc.
