MASPORT '01 Formula Vortech Install with pics Chris came by the shop a few weeks ago and let us know that he had bought a Vortech supercharger kit off of a buddy of his, and that he would like us to install it, along with other goodies and supporting mods.
We were finally able to start on the car this Monday, and we are already ahead of schedule, which is always nice in this business...
The car is a 2001 Formula that is in MINT condition. Being a fellow F-body owner myself, I really appreciate the care Chris has apparently taken with this car. He has 3pt subframe connectors, Edlebrock torque arm, LCA's and a panhard bar currently installed, and is now searching for more power (I dont blame him). He is running MT drag radials as well, which make for a NICE street car with a solid hook! Very nice ride all around!
We will be installing the following:
Vortech supercharger V-9 G (8lb 3.125 pulley, 8 rib set up for now)
60 # injectors
Racetronix drop in fuel pump
Triple gauge pillar with Boost, AEM Wideband, and Fuel pressure gauges
and a few other goodies to boot
I will add pictures as we go, so check the thread often!
Today we will finish the fuel pump install and then will start to tap the oil pan for oil feed and return lines, as well as mount the head unit. We will also need to pin the crank, but will do that tomorrow...
Overall, this install is going to be VERY nicely, I cannot wait until it is completed. We will put it on our in house dyno and tune it, then I will post a graph with numbers!

Update, July 29th:
I had to leave town for about a week...but Dan and Josh continued to work on the Formula, everything was coming along great, and I have a lot of pictures to post when I get back...the car is going to haul!

Update: August 3rd, 2007
I finally have been able to get some free time to post up...I was out of town, and missed the entire install, but pics were still taken.
The kit went on with minimal modifications...we did have to make some brackets and some fittings so everything would button up, but overall, install went very smoothly.
We had some problems after the first dyno run with the crank pulley which caused a leaky seal...once a new crank pulley was thrown on along with the seal, all went well!
Considering the mods Chris has in the car the car absolutely moves out . He has a rebuilt A4 with a shift kit and man does it shift HARD! Very fun car to drive, especially when you hear the whining of the supercharger.
Chris was very pleased, as were we.
Next on the list for Chris will be a new 160 T stat and a smaller pulley which should up the boost a considerable amount
When I get ahold of the numbers it put down, I will post!

Ok, so apparently I deleted my entire photobucket album, and pics aren't showing up!
