The 2001-2002 headunit should handle it. The late-1999-2000 couldn't. Pushing the "CD/Play" button should switch between them and the internal CD player. At least that's what what I've read. I have a 2001, but I don't have the CD-Changer to confirm.

No idea... but I think they both dont work because your stereo only has one AUX and it's trying to decide which to play...and it obviously chooses the CD changer.

Does anyone have an issue with the back button on this device? I have a 2002 Monsoon HU in my 97 TA, and I LOVE the iSimple.....but....I need to hit the back button 3 or 4 times to get it to go back a song. I thought something was wrong with the unit, so I sent it back and got another, and the replacement does the same thing. Is this normal with our cars?

^^ my HU & iSimple are fine. 2 clicks takes it back a song, and 1 click back re-starts the current song.

If your head unit is a cassette, it will work fine. If it's a CD head unit then you'll have to replace it. These adapters require a HU that can control the optional external CD changer. CD head units didn't get that ability until 2000.

You need the ISGM73 which Best Buy apparently doesn't carry. You can get it from Amazon for $105.

...or look on eBay. My friend got his new for $75. But on the iphone 3G's, it's doesn't charge the phone, only play the songs.

Personally, If you have the 1st gen iPhone, i think you're better off.

Peripheral (the makers of the iSimple) are coming out with a 're-volt' cable to solve the newer iPod and iPhone charging issue. It's supposed to be available this month.

Oh cool, thanks for the link! I just ordered one.

This is different than the cable I mentioned. This one replaces the cable that comes with the iSimple, and plugs directly into the unit. The new one coming out plugs into the dock connector of the existing cable, the other end plugs into the iPod. Not sure why they changed it, but I like the idea of changing the whole cable.

The cable arrived yesterday, and my iPod Touch now charges in the car!!

I also learned a little trick that seems to be a well kept secret. Switch 6 on the iSimple will make the iPod play louder. My iPod has always played with volume significantly lower than the radio or CD player. But now that I turned switch 6 on, the iPod is as loud as the others.
