Keyless Start Button
alright well ive seen a lot of cars with the whole press button and then turn the key but i think i have seen like bmw's and cars like that with a key for type thing that you just keep in your pocket and then just press the button.
is there any way that this could work in our cars?

people have talked of doing it with a carputer using bluetooth and your phone as the key. but theres the problem of the computer always has to be searching for it which would drain battery. i think it would be possible with an atom processor and very efficient board that turns everything off except the usb wireless when searching.

Would you really want anyone who can emit certain frequencies from a device to be able to start your car and drive off with it. I am pretty sure the setups used in high end autos is encrypted so would be a bit of a challenge to duplicate in order to steal them. Not really sure that your setup is going to be very theft deterrent including the fact you will already have spliced into every wire someone needs to steal your ride in the first place. Cool as it sounds might just be a bad idea.
