Default Need an interior ground and some other help

Hey guys,

I'm in the middle of wiring something up. I connected everything, and when I flipped the switch this item didn't light up. I checked the power and the ground and everything was still connected. However, I realized that the ground I spliced into was being used for 3 different things. I have the power hooked up at the engine fuse box. I used one of those fuse tap things, it plugs into a fuse port, and has two fuses in the top, then has a prewired crimp to connect my wire to. I then have that ran to the control box and connected, as well as the ground. Yet I still have no light or sign of power. I have it in the "20A Fuel Pump" fuse port, with two 10 Amp fuses in the top.

I could've swore while I was holding the power and ground before I connected them, that I heard a spark and they touched. I didn't see the spark but I think I heard it, which would tell me that they have power and it is grounded as well. I checked the fuses and they still appear to be intact.

Basically, could someone tell me of a good ground point inside the car, preferably in the front under the dash or something? And does anyone have any ideas why i'm not getting anything? How could I test if i'm getting power?

Thanks for reading all this!

Would it be one of those screws/bolts that has a bunch of little grooves around the whole thing? I've been working on the drivers side underneath there, behind the carpet the whole time cause ive been running wires in and out of the grommet whole. I saw two things like what I mentioned, would that be what your talking about?

Would connecting a new ground cable to one being used by 2 other items prevent it from working?

Thanks guys. I'm gonna go back out in a bit and check everything. I have a feeling I'm not getting power. Hopefully this test light I have even works.
