Default keyfob questions

ok so the weather warmed up today and i thought i would go and start my 99c5 thats been in storage for about 4 months. the battery has been out of the car on a trickle charger. after replacing the battery and starting the vehicle i find that my key fob no longer works. i replaced the battery in the fob too and it still does nothing. not sure what to do now, i looked into buying a new keyfob and they are about $100. i can think of better things to do with $100 than open a door. anybody have any suggestions? can a use a different keyfob from a GM of the same era, and how do i program it to work with my car?

Talking i'm a moron

Well about 5 min after posting the last thread i fund the answer to my own question. i had to re-train the fob to my cars computer. Maybe i should spend that $100 on an owners manual!
