Default Built my first sub/speaker box insert

and just thought I would post some pics of the finished project. I wanted something to house the new TMA Amp and Quantum 12 and two 6x9's but be easily removed at the track to lose the weight and still look good at the car shows... What you can't see is the underside - the sub is actually housed in its own box and so are the 6x9's. My amp is mounted underneath between the t-top holders. I will probably re do it when I find a better carpet match but for now it will do. The best part - it sounds awesome

looks like a good use of resources (the way you used the old flap to cover up the gap was genious)

Thanks! When I was fitting the new insert I happened to be moving that privacy guard around and noticed that "hey this will fit nicely here with a little trimming!" LOL

Looks pretty good but it doesn't seem like it seals very well. Air leaks won't do you any favors.

If you want to make it even easier to pull the stuff out for the track, get some "breakaway power connectors" - Parts Express carries them all the way down to 0 AWG. 4 AWG, 2 AWG, and 0 AWG are all $9.80 and you would need two so it's not the cheapest idea (maybe they are available cheaper elsewhere) but it would be convenient.

Thanks... Not sure if you think the back side of each speaker and the sub is exposed or something and just sitting free in there but their not... as I mentioned earlier, from the pics you can't see the underneath where each speaker and the sub HAS IT'S OWN separate box/housing, all 3 boxes were lined and seams/corners were sealed, No leaks.... and each box does have its own quick disconnect. Just a 1, 2, 3, pull and its out.
