Default Alpine iDA-X200

Im looking at replacing my stock monsoon headunit with this alpine model. My CD player crapped out so this sounds like a good deal to me. Best Buy has them for 150 bucks ... what do yall think?

good head unit, but its not a CD player. Its technically a media player, as in it has no cd drive. if youve got an Ipod, youll be fine. but you said specifically in your first post "CD" player. the only way to play cd's is to hook up the alpine CD changer. but overall a good unit if your looking for Ipod/MP3 player, i still think the 100 is worth the extra money though

Yeah.. all I use is my Ipod in my Tahoe so that is what I am looking for. One guy said that his 1st gen ipod mini would not work but the 2nd gen would. Does anyone know if my 1st gen ipod nano would work?

No skipping CDs, you can load up a thumb drive with tons of mp3s,
and it's light weight.
It's not as fancy as the X100 but it is getting cheaper and
is basically the same thing.

Alpine IDA-X series FTW. I replaced my Monsoon HU with one of those, and it is like night and day just from replacing the head unit. I would imagine the X200 would have the same result.

Do you have any pictures of it installed in your car?

Scosche

Metra

With the Metra kit I needed 90° RCA jacks
because there is not enough room with straight RCA ends.

I will say this about the IDA-X series. For all the features that they have, their EQ stinks! It has only a Treble and Bass control with a few parameters for center frequency, low-pass filter, etc. If you want more features, you have to buy the Imprint PXA-H100 to get the 7-band graphic/parametric EQ and the sound-tuning features, which I have heard are to die for, so YMMV, but I love my IDA-X100.
