Aftermarket CD Player cutting out...

Aftermarket CD Player cutting out... Just got back from a 2 week R&R and of course the car was sitting there the entire 2 weeks. I started it up (everything is fine) and the CD player is working like normal. I turned the volume up on it and then it started cutting out like the CD was skipping. So I burned another data CD (MP3 CD Player) and put it in, and it does the same thing. Whenever I go above a certian volume level it starts to cut out. I put it over to the radio, but I have the antenna disconnected so all I could get was static but it wouldn't cut out.
Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be? The CD player was installed in '05 so it does have some years on it.
