Very true. If you put everything back together and the window moves at all, it means the wiring is correct. You can always double check the voltage at the motor, but what you're describing sounds like a worn out motor to me.

Alright so i broke the old regulator as i was taking it out so i ordered a new regulator with motor. Installed it in and now the window has problems going all the way up i have to assist it. It is not the motor because sometimes i get around 1 1/2 inches way from the window being all the way up and after the motor is stoped it slowly creeps up a half an inch or so. Then i have to stick a screw driver under the window(door panel is still off) and pry it up. Any ideas

Figured the problem out, my rear window channel guide was no more then 1/2" slid to the forward. Figured I would post what fixed my problem for anybody who was having the same.

very good writeup, glad my window is fixed the way it should.

but for me doing this was quite expensive, especially since i had none of the necessary parts.

Default 12volt wires to relays

What would be the problem getting 12 volts at the two wires at the column making for a cleaner install?

I may have them. I'll check later today after work and a local Pontiac Club gathering.

The OP is still active on this forum so maybe you could PM him. The pictures could be added as attachments or we can set up a place to host them if necessary.

For the most part, the instructions are very complete and can be used to complete the mod even without photos.

So let's give this a try..

Relay#1
86- light blue
85- ground
87- other side of light blue
30- wire from battery

Relay#2
86- light brown
85- ground (piggybacked to relay #1 pin 85)
87- other side of light brown
30- piggybacked off relay #1 pin 30

Is that not right?

Is my wiring pin-out not look correct? All your essentially doing is running power from the battery to the relays. So they have 14v, and just put relay inline of the switching wires (lt brown, lt blue)?

The simple answer is No. Unless the original poster puts them back or someone else posts some new ones, they are gone.

No luck finding pics after digging through multiple backups of my old system.

However, I did a quick google search and found this link on another site that has a diagram of how to wire the passenger window but I think the driver side was wired slightly different and has different wire colors as I remember.

What's weird about it? The window motor reverses direction by reversing polarity so the SPDT relays merely switch between power and ground based on window direction.
