Default Kenwood KDC MP 7028 NO POWER-- Nothing!

This is actually my first post on the forum, so here it goes.

I have installed a new Kenwood KDC MP 7028 in my 2000 Trans Am, formerly a Monsoon system, completely stock.

I bought the wiring harness and all, did everything the way it was suppossed to be done as far as connections go, and can't get ANYTHING to work. I have NO power, and all fuses are good.

I searched and searched to absolute FRUSTRATION, and can't find anything out. I haven't done anything wrong that I can tell. The factory harness fit perfectly in the new adapter. I had the CD changer also, so that plg is just lying in the back of the dash.

Is there something I'm suppossed to splice?
Where am I going wrong here?

What about the amp? Is that built into the factory harness?

Is there anything from the other plug I'm suppossed to splice into? I read someone else with a TA had to do something with a dark green wire. I just can't understand why the new HU won't work, and the factory one was fine 2 hours ago.

Well, I have neither. I guess I just need to take it somewhere tomorrow and admit defeat?

I think it's a little ridiculous that I should even have to go through that **** considering everything was fine with the stocker. Maybe that's just frustration talking, but when you follow the diagram step by step, there should be no reason to have to do that.

Wiring Harness is perfect. What about the power antenna? If mine didn't work to begin with, should I leave it undone?

what color do the yellow, black, and red wires on the harness you bought go to? If it is correct, the yellow (constant) will go to an orange wire in the factory plug. Red (accessory) will go to a yellow wire in the factory harness. Black (ground) will go to black in the factory harness. If these are wrong, your harness is either plugged in wrong or you have the wrong harness.

OK.

Feel free to flame me, crucify me, put me on the breaking wheel.....

EVERY time I was plugging it in to the new harness, I had it

UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!

Guys, I am ashamed, humbled, and absolutely humiliated. I didn't think it was possible. I don't know what it was, but for some reason I just thought it didn't go together "right." I though to myself, "Why doesn't it just "click?" "

Well, there's the problem. I am SO SORRY to have wasted your time!!

Again, I expect the boorish jeers from the community.....

To tell you the truth, I have seen so many people do that. On GM harnesses it is very easy to do so. I'ld prob say at some point every new guy i have trained did the same thing. Atleast you figured it before paying someone, especially in Lafayette, lol. Seen some bad stuff come down from there with problems, not sure what shop but its always bad.
