I took my system out not jus because of the added weight but because of better ride quality. With the extra 100 or so lbs that I was lugging everywhere, the axle would hit the bump stops harder and couldn't really control the weight of the rear. This is with Strano's/Koni's.

Here's my setup:
(1) still can store my t-tops
(2) can hit hard bass whenever
(3) adds some weight, but not trying to get into the low 10's
(4) is a DD
(5) and still have room for stuff like, oh, groceries, my dufflebag, several backpacks, etc.
It's a sports car, not a sports wagon.

when i first got my car i had an mtx stealth box with 1 new version alpine type r(the one with the ribbed suround) with an alpine 350watt 1 channel sub amp and it hit really good very clean then i pulled out all the monsoon and went all aftermarket so the 1 ten wasent enough any more.
now i have 2 memphis pr's runing on the sub channel from my 1300 memphis belle and they are geting about 300-350 a piece and the can get loud be there not the strongest subs so they are easy to max out.
h have the non t-top subthump box i got it off of ebay for 15bucks with 60 shiping lol.

I suggest a stealth box, an Alpine MRP-M500 amp and an RE Audio SE 10" wired at 2OHM (2OHM will make the amp put out at it's max, 500W RMS) will do you VERY, very well. Trust me. Mirrors will shake and you'll get a back massage.
You need a certain stealth box, like one from Kee. An RE Audio SE10 will not fit in a subthumb stealth box. Speek with Kee from Kee Audio, I believe he has boxes that fit them very nicely.
