Default Autometer Gauge Light turns off when key is turned

I have autometer cobalt gauges.. the power for them is hooked up to the "IGN" slot in the fuse box, and the signal for the light to turn on is hooked up to the headlight switch. They always used to turn on as soon as I turned the key to on, and they would light up right as I turned on the parking lamps.

Lately, they randomly work. More often they don't work than they do. For example, I'll start my car, and the gauges won't turn on. I'll turn on my parking lamps, and the gauges WON'T light up. But when I turn the key to "OFF" and my lights are still on, the gauge lights up.

If you guys don't get me I can take a video.. Any ideas?
