I replaced my stock sailpanels after them blowing with some bazooka 6.5 sails and the bazookas are not responding well at all, they dont hit much and you can barely hear them...
Is that normal? I mean i barely notice their there..

I just read that 4ohm speakers are signficantly quiter than 2ohm could that be my problem?

you must be having some other kind of issue. I replaced my sails with those same speakers and I still had the stock head unit and they were a definite imnprovement. I just now replaced my head unit after a few weeks of having that setup with an Alpine ida-X305 and now the subs really woke up.

What can i check for? I remember just unplugging the other speakers and simple swap in the bazooka's and they just seemed like they arnt getting any power, they can be heard if i turn up the base on my headunit all the way up but it still sounds real soft.

You probably have the pairs on each speaker wired opposite to each other (i.e. pos to pos, neg to neg on one pair but pos to neg, neg to pos on the other pair). That would cause each voice coil to be "fighting" the other and you would get almost no sound. Try reversing one pair of wires on each speaker.

I'm not exactly sure. I replaced the sailpanel speakers a few months before the headunit. When I replaced the sails all I did was unplug the stickers and connect the bazookas to the wires that were connected to the stock speakers. So where ever those wires connect to is where I'm guessing it's getting it's power from.
Also that makes me question my headunit when I wired it their was only one set of wires for rear speakers. Left and right rear. So do those connect to the sailpanel speakers or the hatch speakers?

No, you can't use 2-ohm speakers in Firebird sail panels. You replaced the factory 4-ohm DVC subs with Bazooka 4-ohm DVC subs - they should sound much better.
