Default JL Audio: stealth mode

Here's the system, over $3,000 in components & wiring, completely hidden....even when inside the vehicle (w/ the rear flap up).

.......installed everything myself in 7 hours....plus another 2 days it took building the box/rack

Head Unit: Stock H/U (JL CleanSweep Interface)

Door Speakers: JL XR 6.5'' Components

Side Panel Speakers: JL XR 6.5'' Coaxials

Subwoofer: JL Audio 10W1v2

Full Range Amp: JL Audio 300/4

Monoblock Amp: JL Audio 250/1

(tweeters for components glassed into panel behind the door skin)

I built a rear well amp rack & built a fiberglass enclosure for the subwoofer.

here's the pics (rear well pics only, I'm assuming you guys know what the stock h/u & speaker baffles look like )

They sound great, but IMO the amp has alot to do with that. I went JL because I was able to get a discount...you can probably find nicer speakers for the smae price

So, you spent over $3K on a stereo system, but you're not willing to tint the windows? OK.

No... the amp does not have much to do with it. You could use Kenwood for your amplification and still be fine. JL speakers are good, but I wouldn't buy them. I'd recommend Rainbow or Focal, etc.

^^^ That's like saying you could put a dual audio brand amplifier on them, and say they will sound good.

Actually, that's most likely true. I wouldn't expect a Dual brand to be very reliable and I would expect it to have a startup pop which would annoy me, but it should actually sound the same while it lasts. At worst, the SNR will be worse. But Kenwood is much better than Dual.

Hate to say it but I agree with him. I compete in MECA SQ and one of my PPI art series when out in my prelude so I had to throw in a kenwood as a backup and actually scored higher then my previous show lol. Just really depends on alot.
