Default This may sound like a stupid question but...

Would there be any way to rig a stock head unit controls to aftermarket internals??
What I mean is keep my stock buttons/face but have them work on an aftermarket (let's say alpine) h/u.

I hate the look of an aftermarket radio and would love to keep the stock look with aftermarket quality... hmmmmm???

As in just switching the faceplate? No, wouldn't work. Why would you want to switch it out if you don't want aftermarket though?

Well I'm just tossing around ideas here. My stock cd player doesnt work and I have an old alpine sitting around collecting dust.

I know it would be a little bit of work but I'm thinking there's gotta be a way to mate the stock faceplate to the alpine h/u

I've never seen it done but i would assume its too much of a hassle, if at all possible. Could just buy a stock HU off someone if you want factory.

Not only that, but I'll bet that Alpine is a different size than the stock HU, such as 1 DIN to the 1.5 DIN of the factory radio.

Whatever you do don't buy another crappy factory stock radio. Aftermarket may look bad but at least it works...

Ya I know this wouldn't be a walk in the park. Just feeling out ideas if it's possible. There has to be a way to link the buttons somehow?? Idn Like I said I'm just feeling out some views or maybe some other crazy tinkerer thought something like this up also.
