Default 02 t/a radio and speaker ?

I have a 02 ws6 ta.. I recently replaced the door components with mtx 6000

I also put in a sony cd player. It was then I wondered what hz would be coming out of the tweeters. since the sticky thread says the woofers are powered by the amp and the radio pushes the highs. when I got the radio on everything worked. all speakers. BUT the highs arent as clear as I think they should be.

Now ? is how are the tweeters in the doors crossed over? was it in the radio? sony cd player doesnt have a built in crossover for the highs. Do I have some mid range noise coming out the tweeters?

and in the future when I add subs and do away with monsoon amp and sail panel 6.5s ..I will have the radio pushing the highs and a bigger amp on the subs.. I guess I will have to use the wiring for the tweeters to power my highs

sorry for all talk but wanted ya'll know exactly what is going on

anybody have an answer!!!

The head unit has no filtering at all - it's just a standard Delco radio like you'd find in a Sunfire or something. There are inline high-pass filters for the tweeters in the wiring in the door. These have been known to fail so perhaps that is the source of your problem.

Take them out of line and put X-overs in.

You can do that but you can't use a crossover as it's intended - it will just be a fancy high-pass filter. Crossovers are designed to take a single signal source and split it into high and low frequencies for components. With the factory wiring, you already have separate signal sources for the mids and tweeters so a crossover can't be connected as designed. You can use the factory tweeter wires as input along with the crossover's tweeter output but that makes it nothing more than a high-pass filter. A regular high-pass filter would be less expensive.

I don't know. My car was missing one of the stock filters so I just installed the X-overs on my CDT's and it woke right up.
