Well I Have a 94 camaro that came with a bose system but instead of chasing down the speaker wire I just ran new ones since the amps were long gone! but the power wires make no sense to me, what colors are what? i just hooked up the stereo red and yellow to the car yellow to get it to work but everytime I turn the car off it loses momory and I have to reset EVERYTHING in the stereo! what is the correct wire colors?

Here are the wire uses according to modified life. Look to see if there is an orange some where. Most can manufactuers don't use standard coloring for their wires. If no one else knows off the top of their head, a multimeter can help you track down the one you need.

Your illumination and dimmer wires are backwards in that list. Brown is illumination (12V when lights are on) and gray is dimmer (variable voltage when lights are on depending on dimmer dial position).
