Default headunit mount kit question.

i know this is has been probably asked 100 times but i want to make sure before i buy. i want a single din head unit mount that looks decent, am aware of humount but not really willing to spend 60+ on this. is there any cheaper place to get this from? i just want a clean smooth looking mount. ebay ones run less than 20 but not sure which one to get or how does it look like. thanks.

Pretty sure Metra makes a plain black one that looks fine. I think that what is in my car, been a while I don't remember for sure.

Actually, it's in the FAQ, runs about $10:

"The most common size is single DIN (the face is approximately 2" tall). This is the size that was used in most cars since the 1950s. You will need a mounting kit to fit an aftermarket single DIN head unit in the 1.5 DIN opening. The mounting kit consists of brackets and a faceplate to fill up the dash opening. The Metra part number for these single DIN kits are:
99-3009 Camaro 93-96, Firebird 93-02
99-3300 Camaro 97-02
99-4000 Camaro and Firebird with CD pocket"

I recommend coughing up the money for the Humount, its a one time buy and definitely worth it.

Buying a used one is one way to get it cheaper. That's about it. I have American International and Metra kits that have a flat face without the logo on it.
To get a custom made bezel with your choice of logo on it HU Mount is fair in there pricing. Plus they are the only one who makes it and do it well. You pay for what you get.

I have now bought the HUMount piece twice. First one stolen last week, and that piece looked so good that I had to have it in this build as well. other than that, all of the $20 pieces look about the same.

We have
Best kits
Metra
Scosche
American International.
all 10.00 or less

if your looking for something to look nice there is no such things as cheap.

Mark and HUMount does a great job on making the single din units and the quality alone of them is worth the extra $$$

Dude, you had two sponsors offer to sell you one. Not sure what their international shipping is like but you can always ask. Failing that, just type "metra 99-3009" into google and go from there.
