JL Audio 450/4
Has anyone tried it?
I'm thinking about getting one and running components up front with channels 1 & 2 (which has 150 watts rms each) and running some coaxials in the sail panels with channels 3 & 4 (which has 75 watts rms each).
It looks huge. Will it fit on an amp rack? My amp rack is from Subthump.

JL amps are never a good choice, IMO - they are overpriced. By a lot. Though I did use a 500/5 in my Camaro... first and last JL I will buy. It was a good amp, but I did NOT need to pay that much money for a good amp.
If you can get it used for a good price then sure. It'll be a good amp. They are pretty big.

Honestly, I've been more of a fan of old school amps lately, at least for full-range stuff. I still want Class D for subs...
If I were buying a brand new 2/4ch amp right now, I would likely go Soundstream Reference. They're a great old school brand that is still great. These are not cheap, but they are not as expensive as the JL Slash amps.
But, again, I'd probably look for used amps... either old school (I'll be using an 8-channel A/D/S amp when I get around to refurbing it) or Soundstream or Audison or DLS or ARC Audio or Zapco, etc. Hell, you might be able to find the 450/4 for cheap used if you want to. Slash amps sometimes go for pretty cheap used.

I had a Soundstream 5 channel Reference (405S I think?) amp over 10 years ago. It sounded pretty darned good. I traded it away when I wanted more power. It only had 25 x 4 + 100.
Which class D amps do you like for subs?

There are plenty but for a well-priced sub amp, I'd strongly consider a Nakamichi PA-1500. Nakamichi is not what they used to be, but they seem to still be pretty good.

I have an old Clif Designs amp I am selling. It is brand new in the box. I actually have 2 but am keeping one for myself. Was a $600.00 amp, will sell it for $350.00.
It is enormous though. 2.5ft. long. Box is 3ft. long. It will fit all the way across and amp rack though. Amp rack is about 37" across. This amp would take up the whole amp rack though. It is a beast.
150watts x 4, 520watt x1 Class D @ 2ohms
Trying to make some room for some other things I have coming in.
Not internally fused though so you have to use an additional external fuse. It is a beast.
