Default Headlight Question

I just go a 2002 SS and it has been over a year since driving an Fbody, and in that time I had some newer cars. After driving 2008-2012 year models, the headlights in my SS seem to really stink. They only light up the road about 30 feet in front of me (lowbeams) and the high beams arent much better, just a lot brighter. I know the car is almost 10 years old, but is there anything I can do to make the lighting a little better? I don't want to change from the stock headlights, so that rules out projectors. I also don't have the wiring knowledge to install the HID's, so that may rule those out. Any suggestions?

Really? I thought there was a lot of splicing and re-wiring. I may give the HID's a shot then. Do any sponsors sell them? What are the best brands?

Bear in mind that installing HID capsules in halogen reflector lamps is illegal and more importantly causes dangerous light scatter and glare. It doesn't matter how many people on here try to tell you differently ("I've never been flashed by other drivers with my 8000K HIDs", etc.) - it's a matter of physics. A halogen reflector lamp is not designed for the optics of an HID capsule and it is impossible for the combination not to produce scatter and glare. Of course there are a lot of people who don't care about anyone else on the road - I hope you're not one of them.

I did not that or that they were illegal. I definitely don't need any more attention on what is already a cop magnet. What would you recommend?

Seems like the Sonar projectors w/ HID bulbs are popular amongst the Camaro guys. Another option would be to retrofit projectors yourself.
