Default Passenger Side Head Ground Wire Size

Warning: Electrical novice (read: dummy) posting.

i am putting my car back together and I'd like to extend the ground wires that are mounted on the back of the passenger side head to make them easier to work with. They seem short on length if I remember correctly and have popped off before causing the car to die on me. I'd like to knock this out while the engine is out. Perhaps I will run them along the intake manifold and mount them on the front of the head as opposed to the back. Does anyone know what size/gauge wires they are so I can buy the right stuff?

while i am at, i may as well post what i think the process is:
1. cut old connector off
2. solder new wire on
3. heat shrink
4. crimp new connector on
5. attach to cylinder head
6. done

thank you ls1tech
