resistors for led steering wheel cntrl conversion
Im finally about to try and convert my steering wheel controls to leds and had a question about resistors. I used a led calculator and its says i need 150 ohm 1 watt resistors but the 1 watt resistors are rather bulky and seem like overkill plus they only have the 1/2 watt resistors available at the local radio shack. So anyone that has done this did you use 1 watt resistors?

The problem with the controls is if you wire them in parallel like they are from the factory then the wattage needed increases. For me I added an additional led to each switch so each button had one so your talking about 2 groups of 3 leds in parallel. I ran 2 1/2watt in series on the feed wire to the switches behind the airbag.

I'll post these here too so if anyone else wants to try this. Blue is positive and red is negative. The third led was added to illuminate the buttons equally. In order to do this there is a piece of plastic under the button that needs to be removed. I tried it with just the two and they didn't light the top bottom very much.
