low beam/high beam problem need help.

low beam/high beam problem need help. Hello guys. I have problem that i never had in all the f bodies.
I have a 2002 Camaro, in the last month i noticed that when i pull the switch rod to change from high beam intensity light to low beam light my headlights low beam not turn on but if i play with the rod pulling back and forward in one point i find in the click a place where the work and turn it on. But is very annoying and many time does not work that trick. I suspect that is the switch inside the steering column. I like to know if somebody had this situation before and how to fix it. Before i take apart the the all unit. Thanks in advance.
