Question BCM question....

Can you swap BCM from car to car? Mine needs the joints resoldered and there is a 2000 V6 in the local pick n pull. Just wanna have a backup plan in case I mess mine up....gonna attempt to fix it myself

Yes, but you need to know the resistance for the vats and match the resistor pill in your key to the bcm value. Also there are two bcm's. One with alarm and remote doors and one without. .

The two models of BCM are interchangeable except that you would lose your alarm if you had one but the replacement didn't. The BCM will still work - you just wouldn't have an alarm system anymore. Check the donor car to see if it has a shock sensor in front of the spare tire to determine if it had the optional alarm.

Ok. Thanks guys. I actually turned my alarm off so that part doesn't bother me much. It was blowing the fuse every time I locked the door with the key fob. Now the radio is turning off and back on by itself, I'm fairly certain all my problems are BCM related

The only relationship between the radio and the BCM is the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) circuit which also powers the windows. Check when the radio turns off on its own whether the windows also don't work. If the windows also stop working then it is likely that the RAP circuit in the BCM is the problem but if the windows still work then there is no way the BCM is causing the radio problem.
