Default Convertible top issues

hi guys
just bought this ‘99 camaro SS LS1/6sp
thought I was strung a good a deal (??)
car had been sitting for 2 yrs
having all kinds of issues
no power windows/ no radio
turn wipers on won’t shut down
lights are always on / unable to turn off unless the car is off
now the convertible top will not work.
Whats sad is when I first looked at the car
all these things seemed to be functional
I’m new to Chevy always been a Ford fan
not sure what to do here
have spent countless hours reading posts here
any suggestions. Im thinking it’s the BCM
does this also control the top ??
Helppppp
please
I really like the car
also having issues with codes on the dash
abs inop/ service engine / service vehicle/ brake lights on
did I just purchase a lemon lol

The BCM does not control the convertible top but the top shares the 30A circuit breaker with the power windows. It is quite possible (even likely) that the circuit breaker is the problem - they are known for wearing out over time. You can replace it with a 30A fuse which will plug in to the same slot. You lose the automatic reset capability of a circuit breaker but you gain reliability.

It is possible that the BCM could be the source of your windows/radio problem but if replacing the windows circuit breaker fixes the windows then it is more likely the radio, radio accy and/or power accy fuses are the problem.

It is likely that the headlights always on is a problem with the automatic headlight circuit. If there is a break in the wiring to the dash sensor or the sensor itself is bad then the system will turn on the headlights whenever the ignition is on. The automatic headlights are controlled by the DRL module behind the radio. It is possible that the module is faulty but it is more likely the sensor.

Default Help

thank you for your reply and assistance
chexked all the fuses and only one was out
the cigarette lighter replaced it and it’s back online
but nothings else seems to be out.
Yesterday the radio turned on for about a minute and yes
my driver side window went down
the bad radio no longer working.
Window down won’t go back up.
Top still not working and now the horn is not working
I will check light sensor as you stated
let’s see what happens then.
Thank you again for your reply

There is no way to reliably check the 30A circuit breaker without specific testing tools because continuity at low current doesn't mean it will still function under load. The best bet is to simply replace it if it is suspect. That could be why yours seems to work a little and then stop working.

Similarly, a visual inspection of fuses is not reliable - an old fuse can look fine but still be blown. It is important to test with a multimeter or fuse tester or just replace with a known good fuse.

Default Bcm

Sunday :have gone ahead and replaced the fuse with a Brando new one and still no power
radio off
no power to windows
top still not operable
Monday:
removed the BCM and did a visual on the board
noticed a fine line on one weld
decided to weld the possible five points according to many
people that can cause those issues.
After soldering it went back and reinstalled the BCM
RESULTS
radio working
windows go up and down
top goes up and down
lights and wipers working properly
about a 45 minute job and all is back
thank you for your help
