Default ZL1 extra front fog light?

Hi everyone, (Hoping this is the correct area to put this)
Been on here for a while but just picked up a '15 Camaro SS 1LE. Quick question, because I cant figure it out: The front end has been replaced with a ZL1 front end, and I cannot figure out what the lights above the actual fogs do. I can't seem to force them to come on, or even know when they are suppose to. I have only seen them blip on when I lock it... I think.
Any help on this would be great! thanks!

On a factory ZL1 front end, those lights are DRLs which come on when the ignition is on, the headlight switch is in the "auto" position, and it's bright enough outside to not trigger the automatic headlights. There is an aftermarket ZL1 fog light harness available to enable the lights on front end conversions.

What he said. I work for GM in exterior lighting. That bigger lamp is an aux Daytime Running Light (DRL).

Thank you guys. The only time I ever see them come on is when I unlock the car at night. Like they are approach lights. I’ll look at the harnesses and see what I can do with them. Thank you.
