Info on '93-96 Delco radio bulb replacement?
I have a '95 Delco (not Bose) radio/cd in my Camaro, but after doing some work recapping the receiver box board, I was surprised to see the front has mini bulbs to light up the buttons. I've never seen one light up besides the display, but it makes all kinds of sense it would .
So, all the bulbs on my unit are burned out. I've seen listings online for bulb replacements for the later '97 radios, but nothing on the earlier types. 12V or 14V .65ma or so. I tried contacting a place that sells radio parts and bulbs, and they've never had their hands on one of these so they can't tell me anything. Anyone know what the specs on these bulbs are?
Honestly it's frustrating how little info there is out on these radios, but considering so many people switched them out for aftermarket stuff it's not surprising.

Replace them with LEDs and resistors (there are threads on here about it including a sticky).

But that would be assuming they are the same rated bulbs as used in those radios. This is an older mid 90's unit, i.e. the Delco/Bose and not the newer Delco/Monsoon type. The bulbs in my second picture, for example, are different (at least in mounting type) than the Bi-Pin bulbs used directly on the circuit board.

Assuming the car has a 12v electrical system (14.5v running), then it should be the same concept to replace the incandescent bulbs with LEDs. Even if it was different, you can test the voltage going to the bulbs with a multi-meter (on battery and running to get the range). I'd suggest testing anyway just in case there is some voltage reduction (resistors/regulator/etc) to feed the bulbs 5v or 6v, but I doubt it. Plus testing will confirm which side is positive vs negative.

If it's the theftlock delco then it looks like most of them are 12v 60ma solder in bulbs. People use radio shack 272-1092 or an equivalent. There's a company selling 70ma bulbs that supposedly work too.
