Never been a fan of Cobra products. Look at Escort stuff. Alittle more money but alot better performance. Saving money on the radar detector is just going to cost you more in speeding tickets.

I have a cobra radar detector, not that same model, but it is a cobra. It is, as of now, sitting in my glovebox. Take from that what you want.

I have a cobra its not all that great, but something is better than nothing if i had my way an escort or a valentine would be tight. Still the cobra will give you an average range of 100-150 ft tops. Not alot. So yea if you plan to speed get something better.

I have bought both a V1 and Passport 8500 x50. 100 Dollar difference. V1: 400 Passport:300 (i got mine for 200 ) I highly recommend the Passport. I sent back the V1 within 2 weeks because the constant hits and extremely high sensitivity. They are both very good radars, both top of the line if you don't feel like spending a fortune. What I highly disliked about the V1 is, when an X,K,KA (what have you) band hits you, a little light next to some white lettering shines. So when driving at night, I got confused often on whether it was a K or X band. Whats nice about the Passport, is it shows which band is hitting me. I was extremely satisfied with my Passport when driving to Cedar Point and I got hits of a cop radaring from almost 2 miles away. Both are EXCELLENT radars, juz dependz on if you like spending money.

if you're fairly handy with a soldering iron, or know someone who is, you can just replace the LED's in the Valentine 1 for the different bands of radar with different colored LED's, so you can know which is which by color-coding
