Should I Install...2 -12"SoloBaric L7's??
I have two 12" SoloBaric L7's that I had in my old car.. I am debating if I should install these on my camaro.. Does anyone else have these, and how do they sound? They sounded awsome in my old car, I think that they would sound way better in the camaro, since they won't be in an enclosed trunk..

Yeah, I was thinking of putting in some L7's on my bird too. But I looked into some enclosures, I wanted to use that custom box you can put on the left side where there's a useless space. But I'm not sure if they come in the shape of the solobaric ( square ish ) I recently saw at Frys the newest solo and DAMN that baby hits hard, for just one 12''. I personally think you should go with the installment. But where would you mount them? A box on top of the rear seats?

L7 needs some serious air space....You will definitely need to make a box for your big hatch area. They wont fit in the sides, and if they did it wouldnt serve them justice. Should sound awesome though once you get it in

The thing is I want to still use the hatch area for my Tops. I don't want to lose that space, then where would I place my T-tops? Damn that's sucks that the enclosures you find for the side wouldn't fit the L7's. Is it that it won't fit it? or that it just wouldn't be enough space for the proper acoustic sound?

A 12L7 sounds great in 1 cu.ft sealed. Like said, that's not going to hit the low booom notes as well, but kicks damn hard. And works best for comps because it matches the frequency response of these cars better. Right in there around 45hz.
Even my 10L7 hits hard for a stealth. Looks similar to this one
I can also put One 12L7 in a milhouse box if you want to keep t-top storage. And those just sound incredible.

so call subthump and have them cut the holes in One of these boxes to fit your L7's instead of round speakers.....
or maybe one of These boxes

they even have a notice on their site:
"IMPORTANT:
After Ordering, Please fill out this form so we will have all your car and subwoofer information.
This is very important to make sure your custom box is cut to spec and has the right colors.
It is your job to get this info to us, otherwise your order will be delayed. Thank you!"

If you want tight bass you need a sealed box. What determines the deepness of the sub is known as the VAS. The bigger you go in a sealed box the higher the VAS gets and your resonant frequency goes down (sounds deeper). If you want a loud sounding bass, then ported/ducted box is the way to go. You’ll gain +3 db from a ported over a sealed and they sound better in my opinion because the sub is much less likely to cone double (kicker is notorious for). Of course kicker is known as an idiot proof sub, that’s why they build/recommend that you use a sealed box. No offense to kicker owners, Im just stating that you can throw it in several boxes and it sounds decent. In comparision to a CV stroker that wont sound right if the box is 0.05 cubic foot off.
