Default What amp for an IDQ10 V2 D4

Im going to be running one of these 10's, and online i think it says power rated at 250/500.
Im trying to decide between the JL Audio 250/1 or 500/1. I dont want to under or over power the sub. From what Ive learned, Image Dynamics are very efficient and low pwer requirements, I also know that JL provides fairly clean and true power ratings, were as some amps are over rated.
I would love to save money and get the 250/1, but if i need the 500/ i will get it. thanks for any advice.

update, its actually and IDQ10 Dual 4 ohm voice coil, not the v2. I won it off ebay brand new for cheap, but non the less, its still rated at 250/500.

The JL Audio 250/1 would be great for that sub. If it is only rated @ 250 watts RMS, then you'll be right on. The 500/1 would be too much, since that 500 watt figure is merely for a music burst (max power). You could get the 500/1 & just not turn it up as much, but if you're not going to expand your system anymore, you'll be paying extra for no reason. Hope that helps.

thats what I thought, but was unsure if the 250/500 meant 250 per voice coil, 500 total.

nah, usually when they list the power handling ratings as something like 250/500, that means 250 watts continuous/500 watts maximum. and the "maximum" means only for a short period of time. so in essence, with your dual-voice coil sub, it would mean 125 watts continuous per V.C./250 watts max per V.C.

Image dynamics are typically a SQ speaker and are not efficient. The 250 will be a great combo.
