Default Problem with stock radio display

Hey guys, quick question, wondering about a possible fix or if this is a common problem, I have a 99T/A with the monsoon system, radio w/eq and tape deck and a 10 disc changer. The problem im having is that the display will from time to time be all out of whack like instead of saying 10:15 as the time almost all the lights in the dis. will light up and it is tottally unreadable, like it willl have the lights for rdm. am/fm. cd all light up and the numbers will be wrong if even readable, sometimes forming things that arent even numbers. Any fix or reason for this, or is it just time for a new radio? thanks alot for you help

Garbage characters on the screen huh.....been there.
I'm on my 3rd Monsoon headunit now. The display goes wacky and dies after about a year and I get it replace under the warranty. Each new unit gets a one year warranty. It hasn't cost me anything yet, but its just a matter of time and its annoying.
