Default Subwoofer question...

Ok, I thought I had that area behind the stock subs sealed but I guess I was nowhere near close to doing it. It took powering the subs at a decent level to find that out... oh well.

Next step: I like the way they sound, but I can tell down at the lower HZ ranges that they need some sealed air. I'm perfectly happy with my current setup, but would it be possible to put something in the hole itself to make a sealed space? They're 6.5" Rockford subs (RFP4406) so they only need 0.1-0.3 cu. ft. of sealed space... would something like this (Makes 0.093189 ft^3) work back there? or does sealed space need to be rigid? I understand the foam probably flexes a bit and wouldn't be optimum, constant sealed space, but would it work? Could I make something like that out of a semi-rigid material and make that work? Or could I reinforce the walls to help it keep shape on the extensions and just deal with some "ballooning" on the compressions?

I mainly just need a project to keep my hands busy but I don't have materials like fiberglass (no experience with that, either).

Yeah, lots of questions ...Just thought I'd ask. Thanks!

ok, nevermind. I'll just try it and see how it works.

I'm interested to know. Looks like a cheap way to improve sound back there.

I've heard, (never done it myself,) that the XTC baffles can be coated with fiberglass resin ( and maybe some fiberglass matt) to make them rigid.
