Default Power an MTX

Which amp would you guys use to power a single 12" MTX 8000 Sub. It is rated for 400 watts RMS @ 4 ohms ( I believe it is single voice coil).

Price range? I had one and it was powered by an amp, sounded great, but they discontinued the amp, it was a while back.

2KThunder: Did you read what you posted before you submitted it?...it is useless.

Can anyone tell me what they would use to power this sub? I was thinking an alpine MRD 501 Mono block, but that'd be over powering it by too much. Which amp would you use? Thanks.

I just bought 2 MTX 8000 SVC 10" subs and am planning on an MTX 801d to power them in parellell. There are some good deals on eBay now on some 311d and 421d amps. The 311d is only 100 @ 12v, so you may want more than that. The 421d is about 210w at 12v, which is probably more in line with what you would want. Just mentioning stuff in the same brand, but 2-300 watts should be pretty good.

no u want 400 watts. nothing less. get one of the new MTX mxa4002 's for it. its a 2 channel amp that u will bridge to get 400 continous watts out of at 4 ohms. its the best match up u can ask for.
